Yearly Charity Football Match in Monaco
Fisichella, Schumacher, Massa and the Rest
Warning: You’ll probably want to put this one on mute as the music is woeful!
Every year the Formula One drivers show what they’re made off on the football pitch instead of the more familiar surroundings of the racing circuit. And some seem to be quite handy at it.
I’m not sure where the match in the video was held although there is an annual outing before the Monaco Grand Prix where the drivers play under the title of Nazionale Piloti and play a team called Star Team Monaco with no less than His Serene Highness Prince Albert II as team coach.
Fisichella is rated as the top players on the drivers side although he likes to over complicate things while Massa reckons he likes to play up front close to the goal, giving him more chances to score. Trulli regularly takes up position in defence giving him less chance to score, so nothing unusual there.
It’s held to raise money for the charity AMADE which was set up by Princess Grace (Grace Kelly) in the 1960s.
