Kimi Räikkönen has returned to the cockpit of a Formula 1 car for the first time since he last raced in it in 2009.
He was spotted driving a two-year-old Renault R30 at Valencia as he readapts to the sport with Lotus.

The 2007 world champion is taking part in a two-day testing program that will help him accommodate and adjust with the grand prix machinery. As he had not driven an F1 car since he left the sport at the end of 2009, his team decided that it is best for him if he will undergo training as a preparation for the season in March.

Kimi Räikkönen admitted that the biggest challenge he faced in returning to F1 was getting used to the tires. But after the pre-season test in Jerez, the Finn has no doubts that he is back up to speed after completing 171 laps and 66 kilometres all in all.
